Danyelle and I joined Takeover Sports Performance and Fitness near the start of the year. We went with our neighbors during a 'bring your friends' week and instantly felt at home in their Adult Strength Class. The owner and trainer Ryan does a great job of catering the workouts to the age range and goals of the people in our class. Proper form is taught and stressed to avoid injury and the small size of the class allows for a lot of 1 on 1 coaching. We've also made a bunch of new friends. At 40 years old I'm stronger than I was at any point in my 30s. I haven't lost weight because I still eat and drink what I want, but I've got muscles popping out in places I haven't seen in years. Each workout I look forward to learning more about what my body is capable of doing.

Our training system has everything you need to look and feel better about yourself. We have developed this system over time to improve strength, flexibility, recovery, and use muscle fiber types underused by most programs to keep you feeling young.

Coach Ryan Connor has been providing adult training to the community since 2015.

"As I get older, I understand the importance of feeling young and maintaining my health to be at my best for my family and friends.

My approach is to use elements of the training we do with athletes to keep them healthy and performing at a high level, to help adults maintain their personal health. My goal is to help you feel great for as long as possible, and adjust as needed as things change in our lives."


Prior to opening at our original location in 2018, Ryan was a high school basketball and lacrosse strength & conditioning coach, and strength & conditioning director for an elite hockey organization. Ryan has helped hundreds of athletes prepare for combines, showcases, and seasons, and is certified by the USATF.
